It was nice to come home after a 2-week vacation and wander about the yard to see what survived my absence. Thanks to a friend who watered my potted plants while I was gone, these bright flowers were waiting on my deck.

While the flowers alone are enough to make me smile, the origin of the flowers make the moment all that more special. This is tickseed sunflower (Bidens aristosa), an annual plant that I have because someone gifted me the seeds. It's a special memory about learning about native plants and fostering a connection that has lasted for many years.
Get out there and find your #momentinnature. She's waiting patiently for us to discover all the beauty and wonder that nature has to offer.
