The trees that cause it still have the green leaves but also have white blooms that are small bunches in a line/cone looking bunch. They smell amazing but hurt me so badly. I see them randomly as I am driving. Do you know what they are?melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17967431190829922035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7556599612141134129.post-65261068223425838772017-05-15T21:49:26.584-04:002017-05-15T21:49:26.584-04:00When does sumac bloom in northwest Ga?When does sumac bloom in northwest Ga?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12086128868631308816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7556599612141134129.post-30416512048177378372012-06-04T21:15:07.787-04:002012-06-04T21:15:07.787-04:00Jeff - you and I are united in disappointment, I g...Jeff - you and I are united in disappointment, I guess!

Aaron - Campsis will be most aggressive in "ideal" garden conditions: good, moist soil, using fertilizer, regular watering, sunny, etc. Crossvine is less aggressive, I think. I don't shun all non-natives myself - favorites like gardenia and tea olive are two that I have in my own garden. I think it is something that each of us has to decide for ourselves and the "bully" aspect of the plant needs to be considered as you said. I do love those pink cosmos too.Ellen Honeycutthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00063791602271573091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7556599612141134129.post-79864778310549698112012-06-04T19:45:26.566-04:002012-06-04T19:45:26.566-04:00El, I keep seeing flashes of orange along the road...El, I keep seeing flashes of orange along the roadside and milkweed alert goes off in my head. I'm rather fond of cosmos bipinnatus and it doesn't seem like a bully. Every time I mention "that purple tree" as being invasive, the response I get is something like, "But it's so pretty!" I obviously have a failure to communicate!

Ellen, I love that you included the invasives/naturalized plants in this post to help people identify the difference.
